Rock Wire has been abuzz with exciting announcements from various rock bands and musicians.

Shinedown recently released their new single, “Outlaw,” as part of their upcoming album, EI8HT. This single marks the sixth release from the album, following previously released tracks like “Dance, Kid, Dance,” “Three Six Five,” “Searchlight,” “Killing Fields,” and “Safe and Sound.” The album, featuring 18 new songs, is scheduled for release on May 29 in various formats including CD, Evergreen vinyl, Orange Smoke vinyl, and a special black first pressing vinyl.

Shinedown has had a tumultuous few weeks, withdrawing from the 2026 Rock The Country Festival shortly after being announced as headliners. The festival, set to tour the United States, was ultimately canceled following Shinedown’s exit due to division amongst their fans, as per a statement released on social media. The band emphasized their aim to unite rather than divide and cited the cancelation as a means of avoiding fostering further division.

Despite this setback, Shinedown has exciting plans for a world tour this year that will span North America, Europe, and the UK. They have enlisted special guests like Coheed and Cambria, Black Stone Cherry, From Ashes to New, and Those Damn Crows on select dates. The band will embark on this tour following the release of EI8HT.

In addition to the tour, Shinedown is set to host Lunatic Ball, their own festival in the fall, in Miramar Beach, Florida. This event will feature two headlining performances from Shinedown along with other acts like Bush, Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm, Living Colour, and From Ashes to New. Shinedown will also headline Sonic Temple 2026 in Ohio, sharing the top of the bill with Tool, My Chemical Romance, and Bring Me The Horizon.

Frontman Brent Smith of Shinedown expressed his excitement for headlining Sonic Temple, stating that the band is prepared to give their all for the performance. The band is gearing up for an exciting year filled with new music, tours, and festivals that promise to captivate their fans and audiences worldwide.
