Guns N’ Roses Perform “Bad Apples” Live for the First Time in Nearly 30 Years
Guns N’ Roses surprised fans at the Monsters of Rock festival in Brazil by performing “Bad Apples” live for the first time since 1991. The song, originally from their Use Your Illusion I album, had only been played twice in the band’s history. Interestingly, its live debut also took place in Brazil at the Rock in Rio festival in 1991.
The performance of “Bad Apples” was captured by fans on video, showcasing the rarity of the moment. This wasn’t the only surprise in their 2026 world tour, as the band also resurrected other lesser-known tracks such as “Dead Horse” and “Rocket Queen”, much to the delight of their audience in São Paulo. Additionally, the tour’s kickoff in Mexico featured the live premiere of their new singles, “Atlas” and “Nothin'”, which have consistently remained in the setlist.
Unfortunately, keyboardist Melissa Reese had to step back from the 2026 tour due to unforeseen personal issues. Reese, who had been a pivotal part of the band’s sound since her entry in 2016, was nearing her 10-year mark with the group. Ever since she joined Guns N’ Roses during the Not In This Lifetime reunion tour, which started in 2016 and became the third-highest-grossing tour of all time, Reese has made waves on some of the world’s largest stages.
Initially brought in by the producer of their Chinese Democracy album, Caram Costanzo, Reese’s unique skills and sound fit seamlessly with the band’s vision. Her absence from the tour was felt, but Guns N’ Roses pushed forward with their electrifying performances. As they gear up to bring their show to Australia in November and December, fans can anticipate more memorable moments and experiences from the legendary rock band.
