The Sleeveens, a Dublin/Nashville combo, are known for their two-fisted pub-rock sound that perfectly complements Goner Records. Their upcoming album, “National Anthem,” is scheduled for release on Thursday, April 9th, under the Memphis label.
The music video for “I Was Born on Saturday Night” was directed by Stef Murphy himself and features footage from The Sleeveens’ electrifying live performances, including their memorable set at last September’s Gonerfest. Reflecting on the song, Dublin-born singer/songwriter Murphy shared, “It occurred to me a couple of years ago that I was actually born on Saturday night. I wish I’d known it all my life! This song is full of Saturday night bravado – calling out some of the evils in the world and generally telling the perpetrators that we are watching.”
