Japanese punk sensation Otoboke Beaver has made a thrilling return with their latest song, “I Don’t Need To Be In Your Strike Zone,” their first release in four years. This electrifying track is part of a new three-song EP that the band has humorously titled Is The New Album Out Yet? The EP also features two other tracks, “Hey, Where’s the Thank You?” set for release this Friday, and “Is The New Album Out Yet?” set for next Wednesday, April 15. Fans can look forward to a physical 4″ record containing all three songs, set to be released in June.

These new songs are significant as they mark the last recordings with drummer Kahokiss, who took a break for maternity leave after performing at last year’s Fuji Rock Festival and announced her retirement from the band this year. Stepping into her role is drummer Leo (Emi), described as an old friend of the band. Leo also plays in Ni Hao! and was a member of Shonen Knife from 2010 to 2014.

Director Haruko Tajima has created an energetic and captivating video for “I Don’t Need To Be In Your Strike Zone,” enhancing the punk vibe of the song. The video perfectly complements the band’s dynamic sound and showcases their rebellious spirit.

Otoboke Beaver’s music is known for its high-energy, fierce punk rock sound, and their return with “I Don’t Need To Be In Your Strike Zone” does not disappoint. Despite the four-year hiatus, the band has managed to retain their signature style and intensity, delighting fans with their new release.

Fans of Otoboke Beaver can expect more thrilling music from the band, with the upcoming releases of “Hey, Where’s the Thank You?” and “Is The New Album Out Yet?” The EP promises to be a must-listen for punk rock enthusiasts and showcases the band’s growth and musical evolution.

With their latest release, Otoboke Beaver proves that they are a force to be reckoned with in the punk rock scene. The band’s infectious energy and raw talent shine through in “I Don’t Need To Be In Your Strike Zone,” leaving listeners eager for more. Stay tuned for the release of the full EP and the physical record in June, as Otoboke Beaver continues to make their mark on the punk music landscape.
