Following the incredible success of Project Hail Mary in theaters, fans can now look forward to a new video game created and announced by Series Creator Andy Weir.

The upcoming game, titled Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars, promises an immersive experience combining VR and AR visuals. Developed by Maze Theory, the team behind popular titles like Doctor Who: The Edge of Time and Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom, collaborated with Amazon MGM to bring this game to life. Weir himself penned a fresh chapter in the Hail Mary saga, placing players in the role of Ryland Grace as they strive to avert disaster at a crucial juncture in the central narrative.

“Fans have eagerly awaited more content since the debut of Project Hail Mary a few years back,” noted Series Creator Andy Weir. “This game offers a new perspective beyond the events of the book and movie that players can explore through mixed reality.”

The game’s storyline tasks Ryland Grace with the critical mission of preventing a catastrophic malfunction aboard the spacecraft. Assisted by the beloved companion Rocky, a key ally who provides vital support through a combination of trust, teamwork, and resourcefulness. Despite being a rock in essence, Rocky’s interactions in the game add depth and humor. From offering a thumbs-up to responding with jazz hands, fist bumps, or the humorous “fist my bump,” players will enjoy Rocky’s engaging presence.
