Haste the Day feeling “Adrift”
Haste the Day has made a notable comeback with their release of the new single “Burn” and a performance at Furnace Fest in 2024. Following nearly a decade without new music, the metalcore band is now gearing up to drop their latest album, “DISSENTER,” set to be released on May 1 through Solid State Records. This upcoming album marks Haste the Day’s first full-length release since 2015 and is available for pre-order.
To give fans a taste of what’s to come, Haste the Day has unveiled a visualizer for one of the tracks from the album, titled “Adrift.” This slow jam ventures into a more pleading and atmospheric ballad, combining heavy guitars with subtle, layered intensity. The song takes listeners on a journey, slowly unfolding and revealing unexpected harmonies beneath its weight. In terms of lyrics, “Adrift” delves into themes of disconnection, exile, and the loss of home, portraying the erosion of identity that often follows.
The tracklist for “DISSENTER” includes a lineup of songs such as “Cycles,” “Shallows,” “Grave,” “Burn,” “Liminal,” “Gnasher,” “Heretic,” “Escape,” “Adrift,” “Teeth,” and “Oblivion.” In addition to the album release, Haste the Day has announced a series of tour dates scheduled for May, with a special appearance lined up at Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, in September. The band’s upcoming performances cover various locations including Nashville, TN, Pomona, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, and Granby, Quebec.
Haste the Day’s music has evolved over the years, but their latest work seems to bring them back full circle. Originally emerging at the start of the 21st century, the Indiana-based band has stayed true to their signature style by refining their sound, enhancing melodies, and expanding their musical scope with a cinematic touch. Following the success of albums like “Burning Bridges” and “When Everything Falls,” Haste the Day has continued to captivate audiences, with their seventh LP, “Dissenter,” marking their return to the music scene after an 11-year hiatus.
The band’s lineup features Stephen Keech on vocals, Scott Whelan and Dave Krysl on guitar, Giuseppe Capolupo on drums, Michael Murphy on bass, and Brennan Chaulk on guitar. With their upcoming album “DISSENTER” around the corner, Haste the Day is ready to reclaim their place in the metalcore genre and reignite their connection with fans old and new.
