The Strokes to headline first show in 20 years in the area
The iconic New York City rock band from the early 2000s, The Strokes, is gearing up to make a triumphant return to Metro Detroit after two decades. Fresh off their noteworthy appearance at this year’s Coachella festival, the band is all set to take the stage at Pine Knob on June 15, an event avidly anticipated by fans and promoters alike.
This upcoming show will not only mark The Strokes’ first-ever performance at Pine Knob but also their first headlining concert in the Detroit area since way back in April 2006 at the State Theatre, now known as the Fillmore Detroit. That show was in support of their third album, “First Impressions of Earth,” and since then, the band has only made one other appearance in Detroit in 2022 when they opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers at Comerica Park.
Excitement is brewing as tickets for the Pine Knob concert are set to go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. The opening acts for the show will be Thundercat and Hamilton Leithauser, promising an electrifying lineup for concert-goers to enjoy.
