FBI: Offset shot in leg during attempted robbery outside casino
The FBI revealed that a group of individuals attempted to rob rapper Offset outside a casino, ultimately shooting him in the leg during the ordeal. The incident took place in Florida just north of Miami last week. Federal agents are currently on the hunt for the suspects involved in the attack on Offset. The rapper was targeted outside Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, where he was shot in the leg, followed by an unsuccessful robbery attempt to take his watch, as reported by the FBI.
Offset, a renowned figure in the hip-hop world, is one-third of the Migos group that has left an indelible mark on the music industry. Despite being hospitalized briefly due to the attack, Offset showed resilience and courage by returning to the stage for a performance at a music festival hosted by the University of Arkansas shortly after recuperating.
The perpetrators made their escape in two Chevrolet SUVs after the shooting incident. One vehicle, a black Suburban, fled north towards Hollywood, while the other, a Tahoe, headed southbound toward Miami. Following the incident, law enforcement took two individuals into custody. However, there is currently no direct evidence linking either detainee to the shooting.
Amongst those detained was Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt. He was arrested for being involved in a preceding altercation but was released with charges of disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license. Lil Tjay’s lawyer confirmed that he was not in possession of a gun and was not associated with any firearm-related offenses.
Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, found fame as part of the hugely successful Migos group, known for their unique and influential music style. The Atlanta-based trio revolutionized the genre with their distinctive rapid-fire triplet flow, a technique that has since been emulated by many artists. With chart-topping hits like “Bad and Boujee,” “Stir Fry,” and “Narcos,” Migos has achieved significant success throughout their career.
Tragically, this is not the first time that the Migos trio has experienced a loss in their circle. Takeoff, Offset’s cousin and a fellow member of the group, was fatally shot at a Houston bowling alley over three years ago. Despite the hardships and challenges they have faced, Migos continues to be a dominant force in the music industry.
