Black Market Heart, a post-punk band from Los Angeles, recently released a new video and album. The video for the title track, “What Happens In The Dark,” showcases their signature after-hours fuzz minimalism and reflects their expertise in creating DIY videos on a budget. Clocking in at just under two minutes, the song is a concise representation of the band’s sound.

The trio consists of guitarist and singer Spencer Robinson, drummer Shawn Medina, both former members of The Lords Of Altamont, and bassist and singer Tina Brugnoletti. They recorded the album in a whirlwind two-day session at Kitten Robot Studios with producer Paul Roessler, a seasoned punk veteran and former member of The Screamers and 45 Grave, who happens to be the brother of Kira from Black Flag.

According to the band, the track is a reflection on the desperate desire for any kind of connection and the lengths one would go to in order to make that happen or to convince oneself that it’s happening. The accompanying video was shot inside Tina’s 1967 Dodge Coronet, adding a vintage touch to the visual representation of the music.

The band’s new album is now available for streaming and download, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the raw energy and emotion that Black Market Heart embodies. Additionally, the album can be purchased directly from their Bandcamp page, making it easily accessible to listeners who want to support the band and own a physical copy of their music.

Overall, Black Market Heart’s latest release is a testament to their commitment to their craft and their ability to create compelling music in a short period of time. With a sound that blends punk sensibilities with a touch of nostalgia and authenticity, the band is poised to make a significant impact in the post-punk scene. Fans of raw, unfiltered music are sure to appreciate the energy and passion that Black Market Heart brings to the table with their new album and video release.
