Oak Ridge Boys’ New ‘Before I Die’ Video Showcases William Lee Golden’s Vocals
The Oak Ridge Boys have unveiled a captivating new music video for their track “Before I Die,” featuring an array of personal snapshots from William Lee Golden’s extensive archive. Originally featured on their 2011 album “It’s Only Natural,” the song has been revitalized with a new visual treatment that showcases Golden’s intricate collection of personal photos.
This new video project was born out of Lightning Rod Records’ decision to reissue the album, allowing Golden the opportunity to craft a video that draws from his vast catalog of photographs taken during his global travels as a member of the iconic group. While the video had previously been reserved for live performances as a background feature, the Oak Ridge Boys are now sharing it with their fans and the general public.
Golden’s artistic talents extend beyond the realm of music, as he recently unveiled a photography book entitled “Golden Memories” in February of 2026. This collection features a series of captivating snapshots capturing remarkable locations such as Red Rock Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and Old Hickory Lake in Nashville. It also includes shots from European destinations like London and Paris, enveloping viewers in a visual journey through Golden’s multifaceted life experiences on and off the road.
Reflecting on his passion for photography, Golden expressed, “I’ve been blessed to travel all across the country both with the Oak Ridge Boys and on my own. Along the way, I began taking photos on each journey as a way to remember the places I’ve been and the roads that led me there.” His dedication to capturing the essence of his adventures shines through in the emotive and evocative visuals he has compiled over the years.
At 87 years old, William Lee Golden continues to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to his craft. In addition to his ongoing contributions to the Oak Ridge Boys, he spearheads a family band known as William Lee Golden and the Goldens, focusing on delivering traditional country and gospel music to audiences far and wide. Despite initial plans for retirement in 2024, the Oak Ridge Boys have decided to forge ahead with new musical endeavors and a jam-packed tour schedule, reflecting their enduring passion for creating music and connecting with fans.
Duane Allen, reflecting on the group’s future, shared, “Right now, I don’t have any end date in sight. I just started my 60th year with the Oak Ridge Boys, and I have no one to come home to. Singing and the fans on the road, they’re all my family now. And this group of guys I work with, we all love each other, and we love what we do. So I don’t know when the end date will be.” The Oak Ridge Boys’ resolute determination to continue bringing their music to the world underscores their profound dedication to their craft and their unwavering commitment to their fans.
