Acid Reign’s new album “Daze of the Week” set for release on May 15th, 2026
Acid Reign is set to unveil their latest studio album, titled “Daze of the Week,” on May 15th, 2026. This album marks their return since the well-received “The Age of Entitlement” in 2019. The band recently released their first single, “Fantastic Passion,” giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
Lead vocalist and founding member, Howard H Smith, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming release, stating, “In all my 41 years with this band – yes, 41! – I have never felt more excited about anything than the launch of ‘Daze of the Week’ to the devoted thrash metal audience. It has been a two-year journey, and there were moments when I doubted if it would ever come to fruition. However, with our dedicated producer Jayce Lewis, every performance and note has been meticulously captured, resulting in an album that we are extremely proud of. This one is dedicated to all the thrashers worldwide who may have believed that such albums were a thing of the past. We are here to prove them wrong.”
Acclaimed guitarist Charlie Griffiths, known for his work with Haken, also shared his thoughts on the album, describing it as “wonderful” with its “wall-to-wall awesome riffs, great songwriting, and beautifully angry lyrics and vocals.”
The tracklist for “Daze of the Week” includes tracks such as “The Who of You,” “No Truth,” “Sorrowsworn,” and the lead single “Fantastic Passion.” Fans can pre-order the album to secure their copy ahead of the release date.
As the band gears up for the album launch, they have announced a series of UK tour dates for 2026, including stops in Belfast, Dublin, Manchester, London, and more. The tour promises to bring their electrifying new music to audiences across the country.
Following the success of their comeback album, “The Age of Entitlement,” in 2019, Acid Reign has undergone some lineup changes, introducing fresh faces to the mix. Lead guitarist Matt Smith, drummer Johnny Grimley, and rhythm guitarist Darren Mcgillivray have joined founding members Howard H and bassist Pete to form Acid Reign 3.0.
Producer Jayce Lewis, who has worked closely with the band, noted that the group sounded “reborn” during the recording process. Howard H acknowledged the challenges they faced with previous band members departing but expressed his determination to continue making music. He highlighted the talent and dedication of the new members, emphasizing their eagerness to create new music and hit the stage again.
With the upcoming release of “Daze of the Week,” Acid Reign is poised for a revitalized chapter in their career. The band’s passion for thrash metal and commitment to their fans shine through in every aspect of their music, setting the stage for an exciting new era for the band.
