Jack White Prevented from Achieving First No. 1 on Chart by K-Pop Star

In a recent musical comeback, Jack White made waves by releasing two new songs as part of a double single – a rare occurrence in today’s music industry. His songs “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs” and “Derecho Demonico” quickly gained popularity among fans, propelling White to the top 10 on multiple Billboard charts. This success marked a new career high for the former White Stripes frontman.

While “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs” came close to snagging the No. 1 spot on two Billboard charts that track purchases, it ultimately landed at No. 2 on both the Rock Digital Song Sales and Alternative Digital Song Sales charts. Surprisingly, White was blocked from claiming the top spot by “Dracula,” a collaboration between Tame Impala and Blackpink singer Jennie.

Not stopping there, White’s other track, “Derecho Demonico,” also made a strong debut in the top 10. Coming in at No. 4 on both the Rock Digital Song Sales and Alternative Digital Song Sales lists, the song showcased the rocker’s consistent chart-topping potential.

Interestingly, this isn’t White’s first brush with success on the charts. Just a few months ago, his live recording of “Hello Operator / Till I Collapse (Live at Ford Field)” featuring rapper Eminem peaked at No. 13. This collaboration marked a significant milestone in White’s career, setting the stage for his recent back-to-back chart-topping hits.

White’s chart success continued with his latest releases, “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs” and “Derecho Demonico,” which landed at the No. 21 spot on the Digital Song Sales chart. This achievement tied his previous career peak alongside Beyoncé almost a decade ago. Notably, his Bond theme song with Alicia Keys, “Another Way to Die,” reached No. 39, a position that has since been eliminated as the Digital Song Sales chart now comprises only 25 positions.

With “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs” selling over 1,550 copies on platforms like iTunes and Amazon, White’s resurgence in the music scene is evident. His ability to consistently deliver top hits and climb the charts underscores his enduring influence and talent in the industry.
