Foo Fighters tease upcoming album with new track ‘Of All People’ on Steamboat Radio
Foo Fighters are giving fans a taste of what to expect from their upcoming 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, with the release of their latest single, “Of All People.”
The track “Of All People” joins previously unveiled songs like “Caught In The Echo,” “Asking for a Friend,” and the album’s title track, all of which have been teased in live performances. Frontman Dave Grohl elaborated on the inspiration behind the new song, explaining that it is a reflection on the experience of waiting patiently for something uplifting to emerge. Grohl describes the emotional journey of seeking evidence while navigating through challenging circumstances until hope is restored.
Reflecting on their recent concert in San Luis Obispo, which marked their return to the stage, Grohl expressed gratitude for the band’s reunion and the opportunity to revisit their extensive catalog of music spanning three decades. The addition of drummer Ilan Rubin to the lineup has injected new energy into the group, enhancing their creative process and fan engagement.
Scheduled for release on April 24, Your Favorite Toy will be Foo Fighters’ first full-length album since 2023’s But Here We Are. The record marks Rubin’s transition to a permanent member after joining the band last year. Alongside Grohl, other long-standing members of the group include Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Smear, and Rami Jaffee.
In anticipation of the album drop, the band is gearing up for their Take Cover World Tour, featuring support from Queens of the Stone Age, Mannequin Pussy, and Gouge Away. Responding to overwhelming demand, an extra show has been added on April 28 at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut before the official tour kickoff on June 10 in Oslo. The global tour will extend into the summer, commencing the North American leg on August 4 in Toronto and concluding on September 26 in Las Vegas following appearances at prominent U.S. festivals such as Welcome to Rockville and BottleRock.
