The Pretty Reckless release video for ‘When I Wake Up’ and reveal Global 2026 Tour
The Pretty Reckless is embarking on an exciting new venture with the announcement of their fifth studio album, titled Dear God, which is scheduled for release on June 26. In conjunction with this news, the band has unveiled their latest single, “When I Wake Up,” under the Fearless Records label, and also disclosed plans for a grand 2026 global tour to coincide with the album’s release.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, Momsen revealed, “New single ‘When I Wake Up’ is available now. Anticipate the arrival of our new album ‘Dear God’ on June 26.” Offering insights into the inspiration behind the new track, Momsen described it as “the story of a dream that descends into a nightmarish reality. It explores the theme of a life of excess that propels you on a rollercoaster ride destined for a crash, yet you are oblivious to the impending doom. It’s quite a ride…”
The upcoming album will feature the band’s recent hit, “For I Am Death,” which soared to the top of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in November of the previous year. This accomplishment not only represented the band’s fourth consecutive No. 1 on the chart but also marked the second time they have achieved this remarkable feat.
Accompanying the release of “When I Wake Up” is an official music video directed by Momsen and Chris Acosta. Shot in a POV-style format, the video stars Momsen alongside her former ‘Gossip Girl’ co-stars Jessica Szohr and Connor Paolo, as well as rock icons Pat Smear and Ilan Rubin from The Foo Fighters. Momsen wanted the video to authentically capture the essence of the song’s origin, depicting a period in her life when she was spiraling out of control, indifferent to the consequences of her actions. Opting for a raw and unfiltered approach, the video stays true to the raw emotion and chaos of the narrative.
Following the success of their 2021 album Death by Rock and Roll, the band released the compilation Other Worlds in 2022, unveiled several new tracks, and dropped a holiday EP in 2025, featuring a revamped version of “Where Are You Christmas?” The lead single from the EP claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.
To support the release of Dear God, The Pretty Reckless will kick off the Dear God Tour in North America before heading to Europe, with scheduled performances in various cities such as New Orleans, Dallas, and Los Angeles. For additional information, visit Ticketmaster’s website.
