Infinity Song performs a Tiny Desk Concert
Infinity Song, a group of siblings, has been steadily making their mark in the music industry for quite some time. Their journey to success has been paved with busking in the bustling streets and subways of New York City, honing their craft and winning over audiences with their unique sound.
It’s challenging to categorize Infinity Song’s music into one genre. While there are hints of rock, their distinctive harmonies infuse a soulful quality that sets them apart from traditional “soft rock” bands. During their performance on the Tiny Desk, the band showcased tracks from their album Metamorphosis Complete, including the popular “Hater’s Anthem,” as well as a new powerful ballad titled “Deja Vu.”
As their Tiny Desk performance draws to a close, each member of the Boyd family walks off stage one by one. Abraham and Angel exit first, leaving Momo and Israel to showcase their guitar skills. Angel, visibly emotional, sheds tears on the side of the stage, deeply moved by the moment. Reflecting on the performance, Angel shared, “This was the culmination of all the highs and lows we’ve experienced in our career. It really struck a chord with me.” Performing with family in the audience, including their father and manager, adds an extra layer of significance to their musical journey.
The setlist for the Tiny Desk performance included songs like “Sinking Boat,” “Hater’s Anthem,” “Deja Vu,” “Metamorphosis,” and “Slow Burn.” The band members showcased their talents, with Abraham, Angel, and Israel on vocals, Momo on guitar, keys by David Tumpkin II, bass by Anthony Boyd, and drums by Benaiah Brutus.
The Tiny Desk team responsible for capturing the magic of Infinity Song’s performance included Producer Bobby Carter, Director Kara Frame, Audio Director and Mixer Josh Newell, Video Editor Nikki Birch, Videographers Kara Frame, Joshua Bryant, Mitra I. Arthur, and Razi Jafri, Audio Engineer Hannah Gluvna, Production Assistant Alina Edwards, and Photographer Vanessa Castillo. The Tiny Desk series, created by Bob Boilen, Stephen Thompson, and Robin Hilton, is a platform that brings intimate performances by a diverse range of artists to music enthusiasts.
Infinity Song’s captivating Tiny Desk Concert showcased their musical prowess and their ability to connect with audiences through their heartfelt performances. With a blend of rock, soul, and harmonious vocals, Infinity Song continues to carve out their unique and impactful path in the music industry.
