Greg Mendez has recently released his new single titled No Evil, giving fans a taste of what to expect from his upcoming album Beauty Land, slated for release on May 29th.

The song is accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by Douglas Dulgarian, adding an extra layer to Mendez’s unique and introspective songwriting style. The video’s imagery, featuring CPR dummies and fragmented urban landscapes, mirrors the song’s atmosphere of quiet unease and emotional complexity.

Mendez, reflecting on the track, describes a sense of internal disconnection and blurring lines between his inner thoughts and the digital world. Instead of spelling out this feeling directly, Mendez approaches the song in a more abstract manner, capturing an emotional landscape that doesn’t need clear-cut definitions.

Beauty Land represents Mendez’s first full-length release since his self-titled album in 2023, which marked a significant milestone after years of under-the-radar writing and recording. The new album dives into themes of grief, love, and addiction with a heightened sense of clarity and purpose.

Primarily recorded on tape in a home studio in Philadelphia, Beauty Land was crafted in moments of solitude, reflecting an intimate and emotionally raw sound. Mendez adopts the role of a narrator throughout the album, blending cynicism with compassion to create songs that are quietly powerful and universally relatable.

Musically, Beauty Land combines delicate guitar work with understated pop elements, allowing Mendez’s expressive voice to shine. The result is a collection of songs that feel personal yet universally resonant, solidifying Mendez’s position as a compelling voice in the indie songwriting scene.

To support the album, Mendez has announced an extensive North American tour, featuring support from Scarlet Rae on select dates and Maria BC later in the run. Fans can anticipate a live experience that captures the emotional depth and intimacy of Mendez’s music.
