GA-20, along with legendary blues icon Charlie Musselwhite, will be releasing their collaborative album ‘Blues Now’ on July 31, 2026, through New West Records. The 10-track album was produced by Matthew Stubbs of GA-20 and recorded at Rare Signals in Cambridge, MA.

The union of GA-20, a rising young blues trio, and Charlie Musselwhite, a seasoned veteran of the genre, brings together an impressive blend of talent and experience. Musselwhite, known for his mastery of the harmonica and his six-decade career in the blues, joins forces with GA-20, who have quickly made a name for themselves with their energetic live performances and sincere dedication to honoring the roots of the blues.

GA-20’s discography, released under the Karma Chief label of Colemine Records, has consistently topped the Billboard Blues charts. Their partnership with Grammy winner Charlie Musselwhite creates a dynamic fusion of traditional blues elements with a contemporary flair, showcasing a mutual love for the genre that transcends generations.

‘Blues Now’ pays homage to the classic Chicago Blues sound that Musselwhite helped pioneer in the 1960s, while also incorporating GA-20’s distinctive style and instrumentation to give the music a fresh perspective. The collaborative effort between GA-20 and Musselwhite highlights a shared passion for authentic blues music that stands the test of time.

The album’s lead single, “Crazy Love,” originally penned by Willie Dixon and recorded by Buddy Guy, exemplifies the essence of the blues with its raw, Chicago blues-inspired sound and soulful approach. Stubbs describes the track as a hidden gem in Buddy Guy’s repertoire, reflecting the band’s admiration for the blues legend.

During the recording process, GA-20 and Musselwhite selected songs from blues legends like Elmore James, Junior Wells, and Eddie Taylor, as well as tracks from Musselwhite’s own debut album. The goal was to pay tribute to these artists while infusing their unique interpretation into the music, capturing the essence of raw Chicago blues from the late ’50s and early ’60s.

The collaborative energy between GA-20 and Musselwhite in the studio was palpable, as they embraced imperfections and spontaneity in their performances. The result is an album that transcends time, bridging the gap between past and present while celebrating the enduring spirit of the blues.

‘Blues Now’ will be available in various formats, including digital platforms, compact disc, and standard black vinyl. Exclusive colored vinyl editions will also be released through selected retailers, offering fans a unique listening experience.

With a packed tour schedule ahead, GA-20 is set to captivate audiences around the world with their electrifying live performances. From festivals to intimate venues, their infectious blend of traditional blues and modern innovation promises a memorable musical experience for fans of all ages.

As GA-20 and Charlie Musselwhite take the stage together, their combined talents promise to deliver an unforgettable blues experience that pays tribute to the genre’s rich heritage while pushing the boundaries of musical innovation.
