Ames Flames: Roadie Witnessed Dinah Cancer’s Transformation into Dracula’s Daughter
r video we had our Cemetery Girls with us. It was a special shoot with our horror movie counterparts. We had syringes with fake blood, and Dinah would pretend to inject fake blood into the Cemetery Girls. The video turned out great and was featured on the New York Horde Festival of Fear. We even had airplay on radio stations across the country and the UK. We got a lot of beautiful feedback from people all over the map. One person said Dinah sounded like “Goth Judy Garland,” and another person said the “vocals are amazing.” The band was getting some notice and it was great to see people were responding to them so positively.
Unfortunately, the band eventually split up due to personal differences, but the impact they made remains strong. Our Cemetery Girls moved on to other projects, and I kept in touch with everyone. Even though the band no longer exists, the memories of the shows, the fans, and the songs live on. I still have the pictures, laminates, and memories from my time as their roadie. It was a truly unforgettable experience that I will always treasure. Who knows what the future holds, but one thing is for sure – the legacy left behind by Penis Flytrap will always be remembered in the punk/goth music scene.
