Dolly Parton recently took to Instagram to provide her fans with an update on her health. The country singer shared that she has had to cancel her upcoming Las Vegas residency due to health issues. In a video posted on May 4, Dolly appeared dressed in a glamorous black and pink sparkling top, accompanied by pink glittery earrings and a full face of makeup, presenting her typical Dolly style.

In the video, Dolly, who is 80 years old, started by addressing her fans with a warm greeting, sharing, “Well, hey there, it’s Dolly, and I’m here to give you an update on a few things going on in my life.” This announcement comes after it was revealed in October 2025 that she had postponed her live shows.

Regarding her health, Dolly revealed, “First, it’s concerning my health – and I have some good news and a little bad news. But the good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day.” However, she also shared the challenging part, saying, “Now, the bad news is that it’s gonna take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little swimmy-headed, as my grandma used to say.”

Dolly humorously mentioned, “And of course, I can’t be dizzy carrying around banjos, guitars, and such on five-inch heels, and you know that I’m going to be wearing them! Not to mention, all those heavy rhinestone outfits, the big hair, my big… uh, personality. Lord knows that would make anybody swimmy-headed!” She likened herself to an old classic car that, once restored, can be better than ever, emphasizing the need to “rebuild my engine” after a closer examination.

Expressing regret over missing her fans in Las Vegas, Dolly apologized, stating, “I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas. Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time… And I’ll see you somewhere down the line.”

This isn’t the first time Dolly has faced challenges with her Las Vegas residency. Following the passing of her husband Carl Dean in March, Dolly announced in September 2025 that she would be postponing six dates of her residency due to health challenges. She reassured fans that although she needed more time to get “show ready,” she had no plans of “quittin’ the business.”

In conclusion, Dolly Parton conveyed her gratitude for her fans’ support and understanding during this time when her health is the top priority. She remains optimistic about her recovery and looks forward to returning to the stage once she is feeling better.
