The renowned British progressive rock band, THE TIRITH, has recently released a captivating new single titled “Save The Oak” and has excitingly announced the upcoming release of their new album, Quetzalcoatl, set to be available on Friday, July 3rd. This new chapter in their musical journey solidifies their position in the modern progressive rock genre.

With a seamless blend of classic progressive rock elements and a modern twist, Quetzalcoatl showcases THE TIRITH’s cohesive and daring approach to music. The album is characterized by expansive arrangements, dynamic shifts, and intricate musicianship that showcase influences from folk and jazz to heavier rock, resulting in a unique and distinctive progressive sound.

THE TIRITH’s roots can be traced back to the 1970s when founding members Tim Cox and Dick Cory first collaborated in the band Minas Tirith during their school years. After a hiatus of over thirty years, the duo reunited in 2010 with a treasure trove of experience and unreleased material. Tim Cox, a seasoned professional musician and songwriter, made a name for himself by producing and co-writing Rozalla’s iconic hit “Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good)” during this period. Meanwhile, Dick Cory continued to write prolifically, and many of his compositions shaped the band’s later work.

Since their reunion, THE TIRITH has released three albums: Tales from the Tower (2015), A Leap into the Dark (2019), and Return of the Lydia (2022), each known for their conceptual depth and expressive guitar performances. With a stable lineup that now includes drummer Paul Williams and keyboardist Anthony Hill, THE TIRITH has honed a more unified sound that is rooted in creating immersive atmospheres, technical prowess, and compelling storytelling. As a highly respected presence in the UK progressive rock scene, the band has graced the stages of prominent festivals like the Cambridge Rock Festival and HRH Prog, sharing billing with esteemed acts such as Focus, Karnataka, and Gnidrolog.

Quetzalcoatl stands as a testament to THE TIRITH’s musical evolution, presenting a confident and captivating progressive rock opus that is ambitious in scope and rich in detail while remaining true to the essence that defined their sound from the beginning. The album features a diverse track listing that includes songs like “Quetzalcoatl,” “Dancing With Vampires,” and the titular track “Save The Oak,” among others.

As fans eagerly anticipate the release of Quetzalcoatl, THE TIRITH continues to push boundaries and redefine the progressive rock genre with their innovative approach and unwavering commitment to musical excellence. With their latest single and forthcoming album, the band showcases a fusion of tradition and innovation that is sure to captivate listeners and cement their status as pioneers in the world of progressive rock.
