“What brought you to Fuji Rock? – Interviewing Attendees at Fuji Rock Festival 25”
Fuji Rock Festival, Asia’s largest outdoor music festival, attracted over 122,000 attendees this year, including 20% of visitors from overseas. The festival featured over 200 artists, with headliners like Fred Again.., Vulfpeck, and Vampire Weekend. We had the chance to speak with 15 groups of international music fans to understand what draws them to Fuji Rock.
One family from Singapore mentioned that one of the reasons they chose Fuji Rock was its accessibility to families. They were excited to see the Creepy Nuts performance, a band known for their anime songs. The family was pleasantly surprised by the festival’s organization, activities for children, and the magical fairy lights that illuminated the venue. They recommended visitors to bring sunscreen, comfortable shoes, and be prepared for more walking than anticipated.
Two visitors from China expressed their admiration for Fuji Rock’s lineup, atmosphere, and natural environment. They found the festival to be family-friendly, a rare sight in China, and recommended attendees to have a checklist for essential items and book accommodations in advance.
A group of music lovers from various countries, including Ireland, the USA, and Finland, shared their excitement about discovering new bands at Fuji Rock. They were looking forward to performances by Vaundy, Creepy Nuts, and Radwimps. The group appreciated the relaxed atmosphere at the festival compared to American counterparts and enjoyed discovering new bands like Ginger Root. They advised future visitors to keep their tent doors closed during rain to avoid any inconveniences.
Two sisters from Malaysia reunited at Fuji Rock to see Vampire Weekend, reminiscing about their childhood memories. They highlighted the festival’s efficient safety measures, medical services, and accessibility to water. They recommended attendees to pack hats, raincoats, and research appropriate attire to prepare for any weather conditions.
Lastly, a family from Taiwan, consisting of cabin crew members and their children, cherished the natural environment at Fuji Rock. They were excited to experience the Sunset Roller Coaster performance and enjoy the delicious food available. The family found the festival to be kid-friendly and recommended others to prepare raincoats and sun protection gear for their visit.
Next year’s Fuji Rock Festival ’26 promises to be another exciting event, featuring headliners like The xx, Khruangbin, and Massive Attack, along with talented Japanese acts. Visitors can look forward to another unforgettable experience at Fuji Rock, set to take place from July 24th to 26th.
