Rock Festival near Builth Wells begins tomorrow
Tomorrow marks the beginning of the eagerly anticipated ‘In the Name of Rock Festival’, set to take place at Penmaenau Farm in Builth Wells. Offering an array of live music, family entertainment, and camping options, attendees can still purchase tickets online for this exciting two-day event.
This year’s festival promises to be a fun-filled experience for individuals of all ages, with the added benefit of supporting the Wales Air Ambulance, a charity that provides essential emergency services to those in need. As Phae Jones, the Director of Income Generation for the Charity, expressed, events like this play a crucial role in helping to fund their vital operations, ensuring that the helicopters remain operational and rapid response vehicles are ready to assist those in need.
Organized by the dedicated team at TFR Jones, this is the second year of the festival, with last year’s proceeds going towards the LATCH Charity. This year’s lineup features a diverse range of entertainment, including live music, kids’ activities, food vendors, and more, promising twelve hours of non-stop fun for attendees on both Friday, 8 May, and Saturday, 9 May.
The festival will kick off on Friday with a kids’ disco, followed by performances by rock bands such as Wolf Stone and Wildside. The headline act for the evening will be Maple Rock Wales. Saturday’s lineup includes three hours of kids’ decade of dancing, performances by Shop Front Heroes, Catz Rock/PopBand, and rock covers band Dusk Till Dawn, concluding with a DJ set to keep the party going.
It is worth mentioning the critical role that the Wales Air Ambulance plays in providing expert medical care to those in need across the region. Their consultant-led services ensure that patients receive top-notch treatment and are transferred to the most suitable medical facility for their condition. This essential service relies heavily on public support, with donations needed to cover the £13 million required annually to maintain operations.
In conclusion, the ‘In the Name of Rock Festival’ is not only a fantastic celebration of music and entertainment but also a great opportunity to support a crucial cause. By attending this event, participants can enjoy a fun-filled weekend while contributing to the lifesaving efforts of the Wales Air Ambulance. Make sure to get your tickets and join in on the festivities!
