Emma Foster is an experienced ASL educator and licensed clinical social worker whose work bridges communication, culture, and community care. Holding a bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language & Interpreting, she spent four years as a professional ASL Educational Interpreter and achieved a Superior rating on the Sign Language Proficiency Exam. With additional graduate training as an MSW and LICSW, Foster brings a comprehensive, people-centered approach to her teaching, emphasizing both linguistic ability and a deep understanding of the culture. Known for her welcoming, accessible classes grounded in real-world communication, she creates an inclusive environment for learners.
The Introduction to American Sign Language course at Carnegie Hall is part of the organization’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and accessibility in the arts.
