Breaking Benjamin, hard rock giants, drop latest single “Something Wicked”
Hard rock veterans, Breaking Benjamin, have recently dropped a new single titled “Something Wicked,” paving the way for the next phase in the band’s journey and hinting at an upcoming full-length album. Known for their unique fusion of suspenseful ambiance, powerful instrumentation, and raw emotional depth, the track sees the band delving further into their darker musical realm while holding onto the sound that has been their signature for years. “Something Wicked” starts off with a contemplative and simmering introduction that escalates into a resounding, anthemic climax, showcasing lead singer Benjamin Burnley’s distinctive vocals as they oscillate between vulnerable restraint and explosive fervor.
Discussing the single, Burnley reveals, “‘Something Wicked’ offers a glimpse into our musical and thematic influences. We really challenged ourselves on this track and during the making of this record. We pushed every boundary we had set previously to its limit, and then we pushed a little more, resulting in ‘Something Wicked’.”
When they released their first single in five years, ‘Awaken,’ in 2024, it swiftly ascended to the top spot on the Rock Digital Songs chart and secured a place in the Top 20 on various Billboard charts such as Hot Hard Rock Songs, Digital Song Sales, Hot Alternative Songs, and Hard Rock Songs. Since then, the single has garnered over 131 million streams worldwide, underlining Breaking Benjamin’s continued success.
Having made a mark on the rock scene with their debut album, “Saturate,” in 2002, Breaking Benjamin has enjoyed a long list of mainstream rock hits, with ten songs hitting the #1 spot, numerous platinum and multi-platinum records, over 8.5 billion combined streams globally, and a substantial social media following of over 6.5 million.
