Grace Potter announces release of new album and dates for Grand Point North festival
Vermont native Grace Potter is set to release her newest album titled “Trespasser” on August 21st this summer. The album, consisting of 10 soulful rock tracks, is produced by her husband, Eric Valentine. This album follows her previous release, “Mother Road,” which delves into themes of fantastical wanderlust inspired by Potter’s journeys between her home state of Vermont and her residence in Topanga Canyon, California.
Potter, a four-time Grammy nominee with a music career spanning nearly 25 years, gained recognition in Vermont when her band Grace Potter and the Nocturnals released “Nothing But the Water” in 2005. The band’s breakthrough national album, “This is Somewhere,” dropped in 2007, followed by two more albums before Potter ventured into her solo career with “Midnight” in 2015.
In anticipation of her new album, Potter also announced the dates and lineup for the annual Grand Point North festival. For this year’s event presented by Potter in collaboration with Lawson’s Finest Liquids, the festival will take place on September 18-20 at Waterfront Park in Burlington. The festival will feature a variety of acts spanning multiple genres, with Potter headlining the event on Friday and Saturday nights.
The lineup includes popular bands such as Portugal. The Man, Dawes, Trampled by Turtles, and Dark Star Orchestra. Additionally, the festival will showcase local Vermont talent, including The Devil Makes Three, All the Rivers, and the Jesse Taylor Band. The event will benefit Potter’s nonprofit arts organization, the Grand Point Foundation.
As music enthusiasts gear up for Grand Point North, they can expect a jam-packed weekend of live performances, good vibes, and memorable experiences. Ticket prices and additional information will be announced on the festival’s official website closer to the event date. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to witness an eclectic mix of musical talent against the backdrop of Vermont’s stunning waterfront at Grand Point North.
