The recent release of Port Noir’s new album, “The Dark We Keep,” marks the fifth studio album from the Swedish alternative rock band. Anticipated since its announcement in January, the album has received high praise for its musical brilliance. The band has shared several tracks from the album prior to its release, giving fans a taste of what to expect.

The trio, consisting of members AW Wiberg, who also serves as the drummer, has been deeply involved in every aspect of creating the album. From shaping the arrangements to building the sound and recording the album almost entirely on their terms, Port Noir has poured their collective knowledge and experience into this project. Initially planning to record the entire album themselves, they faced a setback during drum sessions when a water leak forced them to rethink their approach. The band then turned to Daniel Bergstrand for drum recordings, adding another layer of weight and intensity to the album.

Following the drum recordings, the band rented a house to complete the instrumentals and vocals, immersing themselves in the world of the album for weeks. Once all the tracking was done, they took on the task of mixing the record before entrusting it to Magnus Lindberg for mastering. Described as the heaviest and most focused album the band has made, “The Dark We Keep” stays true to their signature melody while showcasing a natural evolution of their sound.

The album features a tracklist including songs like “Complicated,” “Redshift,” “Noir,” and “Ebb and Flow.” Each song adds its unique flavor to the album, contributing to the overall dynamic and diverse sound that defines Port Noir’s music. The latest single “My Destroyer” is accompanied by a captivating music video that offers fans another glimpse into the band’s creative vision.

Port Noir’s dedication to their craft and willingness to push the boundaries of their sound is evident throughout “The Dark We Keep.” With each album, the band continues to evolve and refine their style, creating a musical experience that resonates with fans old and new. As they navigate the challenges of the music industry, Port Noir remains steadfast in their commitment to producing quality music that leaves a lasting impression on their listeners.
