Lancashire disruptors EVIL BLIZZARD have revealed a fresh music video from their most recent record. Extracted from the newly issued Death Songs & Lullabies, ‘Wake The Dead In Bedlam’ showcases the vocal skills of DISCHARGE’s Jeff ‘JJ’ Janiak.

Expressing his admiration for DISCHARGE, Filthydirty shared, “I’ve been a huge, huge Discharge fan since I was a teenager. I adore them. We had the privilege of sharing a stage with them, and it turned out that vocalist JJ was a fan of Evil Blizzard, which was quite exciting.”

During the creative process of the new album, the band had a track with a Discharge-inspired vibe named ‘Four Letter Words.’ Although they considered having JJ contribute vocals to that track, they opted for a different approach. Exploring JJ’s diverse vocal styles and broad musical taste, they pitched the track ‘Wake The Dead’ as a demo to him. His input included eerie whispering alongside the expected screams, which added a unique dynamic to the song. JJ’s contributions extended beyond vocals; he also brought fresh musical ideas and played an instrumental role in creating the video, filmed and edited using a phone, resulting in a distinct lo-fi aesthetic. The band is now planning live performances to showcase the revamped track.
