YES Releases New Single ‘Turnaround Situation’
Yes, the legendary band comprising Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison, Billy Sherwood, and Jay Schellen, recently announced the upcoming release of their 24th studio album titled ‘Aurora’ on June 12 through InsideOutMusic/Sony Music. Describing the process of making the record, Howe expressed his joy and emphasized the importance of collaboration in creating authentic Yes music. He highlighted the band’s intention to move forward while preserving the essence of Yes.
The band has launched the new single “Turnaround Situation,” along with a visualizer created by Matt Hutchings, who also worked on the video for the title track, ‘Aurora.’ Explaining the inspiration behind the song, Jon Davison talked about the personal reflection and growth captured in the music. He delved into the theme of choosing the right path and the rewards it brings, despite the challenges it may present. The track serves as a narrative of internal conflict and eventual resolution.
‘Aurora’ will be available in various formats, including a Limited Deluxe 180g Light Green 2LP+2CD+Blu-ray Artbook & Poster, as well as a Ltd Deluxe 2CD+Blu-ray Artbook, both featuring artwork by Roger Dean and Freya Dean. The album will also include a bonus disc of instrumentals and a Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos, 5.1 Surround Sound & 24bit stereo mixes, curated by Curtis Schwartz. The creative process behind ‘Aurora’ began after the conclusion of the ‘Classic Tales of Yes’ tour in 2024, with the band members exploring ideas and concepts without a predetermined theme.
