Reports by Page Six stated that multiple drivers alerted authorities when they observed the “Toxic” singer driving “erratically” and nearly causing accidents in Ventura County. A concerned citizen made a 911 call to report an “erratic driving person” and provided details about a black BMW moving dangerously between lanes and abruptly hitting the brakes.

Further callers described spotting a “possible drunk driver” in a BMW who almost collided with several vehicles. According to a police report from Us Weekly, officers detected the smell of alcohol coming from within Spears’ vehicle. The report also mentioned finding a bottle of Adderall pills in a purse that was not prescribed to Spears and an empty wine glass in the car’s cup holder.

Spears claimed to have consumed a mimosa several hours earlier and boasted about her tolerance level to the officer on the scene. She also disclosed taking prescription medications such as Lamictal, Prozac, and Adderall. Despite reportedly refusing to perform field sobriety tests, Spears passed multiple breathalyzer assessments but admitted to officers that her sobriety level was a “zero.”

In the aftermath of her arrest, the 44-year-old singer voluntarily entered rehab in April to focus on her well-being. Spears’ attorney, Michael Goldstein, accepted a “wet reckless” plea on her behalf on May 4. This decision resulted in a one-year informal probationary period and a mandatory completion of a 30-hour alcohol education program.
