Nikki Sixx, the bassist for the band MÖTLEY CRÜE, recently shared his thoughts on Vince Neil’s recovery from a stroke in 2024. In a recent interview with USA Today, Sixx discussed the impact of Neil’s health scare, especially the uncertainty surrounding his ability to sing again. Sixx expressed empathy for Neil, acknowledging the emotional turmoil he must have gone through, not knowing if he could pursue his passion for music once more.

Reflecting on the experience, Sixx admitted that prior to Neil’s stroke, he did not fully comprehend the severity of such a medical event. He confessed, “I didn’t know, really, anything about a stroke,” adding, “I thought a stroke was something else, and when it happened to one of us, the family, and then you start learning more about it, you’re like: ‘My God.’” Sixx suggested that Neil’s battle with his health could be enlightening for fans, emphasizing the importance of being cautious and informed about strokes.

Due to Neil’s health issues, MÖTLEY CRÜE had to postpone their residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas, initially set for March-April 2025. The band rescheduled the shows for September 2025 when it was announced that Neil needed a medical procedure. Additionally, they canceled their appearance at the Boardwalk Rock festival in Maryland that same year.

During an interview on Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Neil detailed the harrowing experience of his stroke on Christmas night in 2024. He recalled waking up unable to move his left leg or arm, needing assistance to get out of bed. Neil underwent a challenging recovery process, gradually regaining sensation in his legs and relearning how to walk. Despite doctors’ warnings that he may never perform again, Neil was determined to return to the stage, working diligently to rebuild his strength.

Neil revealed that his stroke was caused by a blood clot in his leg that traveled to his brain, resulting in multiple strokes over the years. He described the scars in his brain visible on X-rays, indicating where the strokes had occurred. Despite the difficulties he faced, Neil’s perseverance and dedication to his craft allowed him to overcome this medical setback and eventually resume performing.

The band’s experience with Neil’s health crisis provided them with insight into the seriousness of strokes, educating them on the impact and challenges of such medical conditions. Through Neil’s journey to recovery, MÖTLEY CRÜE and their fans gained a newfound appreciation for life, health, and resilience in the face of adversity.
