DED to release deluxe edition of “Resent” on July 3
DED has exciting news for fans as they announce the upcoming release of the deluxe edition of their album “RESENT,” set to be available on July 3 through UNFD. This deluxe version will contain unreleased tracks and demos, including 11 new songs added to the original album of 12 tracks, providing listeners with a deeper insight into the band’s creative process during the making of “RESENT.”
To give fans a taste of what to expect, DED has released a visualizer for their new song “Weapon.” This high-energy track serves as a powerful opener, showcasing the band’s signature groove-centric sound while setting the stage for the expanded release. The lyrics of “Weapon” convey a sense of catharsis, encouraging listeners to let out their emotions through the music: “Let it all out right now / Here in the sound / There is no gravity, there is no ground / Fly / Use the music as a weapon.”
Frontman Joe Cotela describes “Weapon” as a quintessential DED track that highlights the transformative power of music. He emphasizes how music can empower individuals, provide escape, and create a sense of unity among listeners and artists alike. The song captures the band’s ability to blend aggression, atmosphere, and emotional depth to create a unique and engaging listening experience.
In addition to the new single “Weapon,” the deluxe edition of “RESENT” will feature a variety of unreleased tracks and demos that showcase different facets of DED’s creative identity. The band has spent the last three years producing these songs, which were mixed and mastered by bassist Kyle Koelsch at Trash Island Studios in Phoenix. Through this collection of extras, fans will gain a deeper understanding of the risks, moods, and sonic possibilities explored throughout the making of the original album.
The tracklist for “RESENT: Deluxe Edition” includes a diverse array of songs ranging from fully realized B-sides to raw demos and experimental tracks. Some songs lean into unexpected influences, while others remain stripped-down and unpolished by design. The deluxe edition offers a glimpse behind the curtain, providing a candid look at the band’s creative process and the evolution of their music.
Aside from the upcoming album release, DED will be embarking on a headline tour in July with support from Dropout Kings and VRSTY. The tour will take them to various cities across the US, giving fans the opportunity to experience their dynamic live performances.
DED’s unique blend of nu metal, hardcore, punk, and rock elements combined with powerful lyrics and intense instrumentation has resonated with audiences worldwide. Through their music, DED aims to bring hope, relief, and self-awareness to listeners, addressing important societal issues and providing comfort during challenging times.
