The band recorded their latest album, Vs Reality, at The Arch in Southport under the production of Tom Peters and mastering by Stephen Kerrison. This marks a significant milestone for the band as it is the first time they have written and recorded a full-length album as a four-piece unit. They emphasized the importance of this album as a major advancement in both scope and quality for them. The band expressed their pride in the album, stating that each song was meticulously crafted and rehearsed extensively before entering the studio. They described the songs as a blend of beauty and intensity, showcasing the band’s growth and musical evolution.

Guitarist Tom Pegg discussed one of the tracks, “Maat Mons,” as a standout piece on the album, referring to it as a high-energy track filled with layers of synth pedals, loopers, and various effects. Pegg highlighted the complexity and dynamism of the song, praising its hooks, soundscapes, and energetic vibe. The band members expressed their reluctance to confine their music to a particular genre, acknowledging the diverse influences that shape their sound. While they acknowledge a post-rock label, they draw inspiration from a wide range of genres including noise rock, punk, indie, prog, and electronic music.

AV Sunset emerged during the later stages of lockdown and released their debut album, Disconnections, in December 2023.
