Boston’s Delta Generators drop latest studio album “On & On and …”
Boston’s very own The Delta Generators are making waves with the release of their latest studio album, “ON & ON,” along with an official music video for their track “Poker Face.” The band has a knack for delivering raw, authentic rock music that truly resonates with listeners.
The track “Poker Face” delves into a deep lyrical exploration of a contract killer who finds himself intertwined with his job. Singer Brian Templeton sheds light on the dark themes present in the song, offering a glimpse into the complexities of the character’s inner struggles.
The accompanying music video for “Poker Face” was expertly shot and edited by Red 13’s Jim Foster, with additional editing contributions from Brian Templeton himself. The visual element adds another layer of depth to the track, bringing the intense narrative to life on screen.
Leading up to the album debut, The Delta Generators released two tracks to provide a taste of what’s to come. “I Got You” and “Mr. Vain” showcased the band’s versatility and musical prowess, setting the stage for the full album release.
Templeton shared insights into the track “Mr. Vain,” which draws inspiration from the Bible’s Book of Ecclesiastes. The song reflects on the fleeting nature of human endeavors and the pursuit of fulfillment, underscoring the band’s ability to infuse deep meaning into their music.
True to their roots, The Delta Generators maintain a commitment to real, live music created by genuine artists. Their approach to recording “ON & ON” involved an intensive eight-day songwriting and arranging process, followed by a two-day recording session at Power Station N.E. in Waterford, CT. The band worked closely with Evan Bakke, known for his work with acclaimed artists Warren Haynes and Prince, to capture the essence of their sound in a raw, unfiltered manner.
The core of The Delta Generators comprises brothers Charlie and Rick O’Neal, who bring decades of musical experience to the table. With Charlie on guitar and Rick on bass, the duo has honed their craft over the years, drawing inspiration from blues legends like Elmore James, Freddie King, and Albert Collins. Their shared passion for rock and blues music infuses a sense of authenticity and energy into their performances.
The band’s formation in 2007 marked the beginning of a successful journey in the Boston music scene. Despite lineup changes over the years, The Delta Generators have continued to captivate audiences with their emotive and captivating performances. With Brian Templeton stepping in as the new vocalist, the band has taken on a fresh direction while staying true to their blues roots.
As The Delta Generators continue to evolve and push creative boundaries, they remain dedicated to delivering music that speaks to the soul. With their latest album “ON & ON” and the accompanying music video for “Poker Face,” the band invites listeners on a sonic journey filled with rich storytelling and authentic musicality.
