The Pretty Reckless release new single
Platinum-selling rock band The Pretty Reckless has recently dropped their new single “Dear God,” the title track from their upcoming fifth studio album set to be released on June 26th via Fearless Records. This haunting and emotionally driven song showcases the commanding vocals of frontwoman Taylor Momsen, pleading in the chorus, “Dear God, can you lift me up, can you take me higher / Dear God, can you lift me up, keep me from a fire.” The track builds up to a mesmerizing guitar solo, highlighting the themes of escaping hell for something greater present in both the song and the album.
According to Taylor Momsen, “Dear God is desperation set to music. When life gets that physical, that brutal, you leave your body and start begging something bigger than yourself to pull you out. That space between heaven and hell isn’t a metaphor. It’s somewhere you actually live.”
This release follows the band’s previously released single “Love Me,” which was characterized by intensity, grit, and edge. Their track “When I Wake Up” made it to #10 on the Mediabase Active Rock chart and currently sits at #16 on Billboard Mainstream Rock. Additionally, their single “For I Am Death” achieved their eighth Mainstream Rock Radio #1. The upcoming album DEAR GOD dives deeper into vulnerability and creative freedom, showcasing The Pretty Reckless at their rawest and most uncompromising.
The band will embark on the DEAR GOD Tour, starting in North America and including stops in New Orleans, Dallas, and Los Angeles before heading to Europe. Following a two-year tour with AC/DC on the PWR UP Tour, the band is set to captivate audiences worldwide with electrifying performances.
This eventful year follows a successful 12 months for the band, including a memorable performance at the prestigious 2026 Musicares Person of the Year Gala, where Taylor paid tribute to Mariah Carey alongside the Foo Fighters. The band also performed at the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Soundgarden. Furthermore, they released a holiday EP titled Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas, featuring a revamped version of “Where Are You Christmas?” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart, reigniting two decades of global fandom and nostalgia.
