One of the most iconic alternative-metal albums of the early 2000s, Evanescence’s debut album “Fallen,” has made a surprising comeback to the Billboard 200 chart after over two decades since its original release. The album, which first debuted back in 2003, has re-entered the albums chart this week, marking a significant milestone for the rock band.

After 123 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, “Fallen” once again secured a spot on the coveted list, currently residing at the 200th position for the week dated May 30. Originally released in March 2003, the album quickly gained popularity and reached its peak at No. 3 on the chart in June of the same year. Filled with defining tracks that have left a lasting impact on the rock music scene, “Fallen” features some of Evanescence’s most memorable songs, including the chart-topping hit “Bring Me To Life.”

“Bring Me To Life” served as the lead single from the album and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming a massive success for the band. In addition to this, the album also includes other fan-favorite tracks such as “My Immortal,” which reached No. 7 on the Hot 100 after its release as a single in December 2003. The album’s tracklist is further enriched with songs like “Going Under,” “Everybody’s Fool,” “Haunted,” and more, all of which have contributed to the album’s enduring appeal.

While Evanescence has seen success with subsequent albums like “The Open Door” and “Evanescence,” both of which reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, “Fallen” remains the band’s most enduring release in terms of chart performance. Despite facing stiff competition over the years, “Fallen” has outperformed all other albums in the band’s discography, reaffirming its status as a cornerstone of their musical legacy.

Originally released in 2003, “Fallen” enjoyed widespread commercial success, selling over 17 million copies worldwide in its debut year alone. It was not only the best-selling debut album in the U.S. for that year but also emerged as the most-shipped rock album of 2003, solidifying Evanescence’s position as a force to be reckoned with in the rock music industry.

Recognizing its enduring impact and influence, Rolling Stone included “Fallen” in its 2017 list of the 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time, honoring the album’s contribution to the genre. As the album continues to captivate listeners and make its mark on music history, its re-entry into the Billboard 200 chart serves as a testament to its enduring popularity among fans old and new alike.
