BALMORA debuts album “THESE GRAVEN HALLS” on DAZE: Metalcore meets Melodeath

BALMORA has unveiled their debut album titled “THESE GRAVEN HALLS” on DAZE, marking a significant entry in the metal scene that blends elements of metalcore and melodic black metal with a futuristic twist. The album explores themes of self-reflection, delving into emotions of anguish, deception, and empowerment. Drawing influence from various sources including The Black Dahlia Murder, On Broken Wings, Requiem For A Dream, and Bladee, BALMORA brings a fresh take on the genre.

In creating “THESE GRAVEN HALLS,” the band members from BALMORA, including Paul Cole, Danny Cuneo, Collin Flynn, Jay Torblaa, and Chaz Torok, worked alongside friends from I Promised The World, Upon Stone, Empty Shell Casing, and Holder to craft a record that pushes the boundaries of traditional metal. Recorded at The Source in New Haven, CT, the album showcases the band’s growth and maturation both musically and personally.

Guitarist Jay Torblaa expressed that “THESE GRAVEN HALLS” is a culmination of stories with recurring motifs that touch on themes of self-reflection. Over the span of three years, the band crafted the album with a focus on exploring personal growth and change. The record aims to resonate with listeners on a deeper level, allowing them to find parallels in the lyrics and draw strength from their own experiences.

Accompanying the album release, BALMORA is set to embark on an extensive tour schedule. The band will kick off a US headliner tour with Holder and Azshara, followed by a Summer Slaughter tour with Hatebreed, Devourment, Incantation, Snuffed on Sight, and Face Yourself. Additional tour dates include a west coast US headline tour in July and shows in Canada in September, supporting Counterparts 905 day show.

With an impressive lineup of tracks like “Ammonite” and “Ophelia,” which feature guest appearances, “THESE GRAVEN HALLS” promises to be a standout in the metal scene. The album showcases BALMORA’s evolution as a band and their ability to blend intricate guitar work with atmospheric tones. The band’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of their genre while staying true to their roots is evident throughout the record.
