Armored Saint release new music video for “Every Man-Any Man”
Los Angeles veterans of heavy metal, Armored Saint, have recently launched the official music video for their track “Every Man–Any Man,” extracted from their most recent album, Emotion Factory Reset, currently available through Metal Blade Records.
Regarding the theme of the track, vocalist John Bush explains, “‘Any man has his price’ is a more familiar phrase and that’s the theme, but we didn’t want to call it that. It was too obvious. We said, ‘How about we call the first part of the line, ‘every man-any man,’ and then stop there.’ The introductory guitar piece has a reminiscent vibe of Andy Summers from The Police. Then, Joey Vera transitions into a cool bass groove. That’s classic Joey; being a grooving bassist, his style is uniquely captivating. You probably won’t encounter a groove like that from many bands within the metal genre.”
Joey Vera further elaborates on the collaboration with drummer Gonzo Sandoval, highlighting how the grooves they create are crucial to Armored Saint’s sound, stating, “When those two guys are locked in, it’s pretty awesome, because it’s like they could be playing in the Commodores. That’s the feeling that, I think, is the beauty of Armored Saint; it takes it to another place that a lot of bands can’t go to in the metal world. That’s a perfect example of it.”
Furthermore, Vera expresses his appreciation for the concept of having the verse, music, and chorus consist of the same musical components, interspersed with varied vocal segments. Inspired by The Police, Vera aimed to incorporate a broad array of influences, such as nods to Foo Fighters and Thin Lizzy, culminating in an intense Armored Saint riff.
Throughout their music journey, Armored Saint continues to push boundaries and fuse diverse elements to create a distinctive sound that sets them apart in the metal scene. Their latest album signals a continuation of their innovative approach to metal, combining traditional heavy metal elements with experimental twists that keep their audience engaged and eager for more.
Emotion Factory Reset stands as a testament to Armored Saint’s enduring legacy in heavy metal music, showcasing their ability to evolve and adapt while staying true to their unique sound. The music video for “Every Man–Any Man” serves as a visual representation of the band’s musical prowess and creativity, captivating audiences and solidifying Armored Saint’s position as an iconic presence in the metal scene.
