Evanescence expands world tour with new performance venue ‘Sanctuary’
Shortly after the early 2000s, the emergence of Evanescence marked a significant presence in the alternative rock scene. With six albums under their belt, the band has now unveiled their latest offering titled “Sanctuary.” The album features the track “Who Will You Follow,” which recently claimed the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, marking the band’s first chart-topper since its inception in 2020.
In celebration of their newest release, Evanescence has decided to extend their world tour into early 2027 with stops in Australia and New Zealand. The Live Nation-produced arena tour is set to kick off on Friday, March 5, at Perth’s RAC Arena, followed by dates in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and concluding on March 20 at Auckland’s Spark Arena. Ticket sales for these shows will commence on Friday, June 12.
This forthcoming tour follows Evanescence’s previous visit to Australia in late 2025 as part of Metallica’s M72 World Tour as special guests. The band also treated fans to a series of intimate sideshows during this time. Prior to that, they honored the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough debut album “Fallen” with a tour in August 2023.
As was mentioned earlier, the band’s world tour is scheduled to commence on June 11 at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Fla. Subsequently, Evanescence will traverse through several states in the U.S., followed by stops in Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Central, and South America throughout 2027.
Over the span of more than two decades, Evanescence has achieved notable success on the Billboard charts, with two albums reaching the top position on the Billboard 200: 2006’s “The Open Door” and 2011’s “Evanescence.” Additionally, the band has garnered five entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including three top 10 hits, led by their iconic track “Bring Me To Life” from 2003, which peaked at No. 5.
Fans can immerse themselves in Evanescence’s latest music by streaming “Sanctuary” and also explore the dates for their Australian and New Zealand tour stops. These extensive tours across various continents are a testament to the band’s enduring popularity and appeal to audiences worldwide.
