A recent promotional video and key visual released by the staff for the upcoming anime adaptation of Kentarou’s “From Overshadowed to Overpowered” manga have captured the attention of fans. The video introduces the anime’s opening theme song, “+Encount,” performed by the renowned rock band FLOW. Additionally, eager viewers can mark their calendars for the anime’s premiere on June 25, which will be available for streaming on d Anime Store, ABEMA, and U-NEXT in Japan. The televised broadcast will commence on July 1 on the Tokyo MX channel, with subsequent airings on ABC TV, BS Fuji, and WOWOW.

The captivating storyline of “From Overshadowed to Overpowered” follows the journey of Ephtal, who finds himself reincarnated in a world where magic reigns supreme. Despite his unyielding dedication to mastering magic, Ephtal faces the harsh reality of his lack of talent in the mystical arts, leading to his untimely demise. However, fate has other plans as Ephtal is granted another chance at life, 400 years later, with his knowledge and power intact. With a renewed sense of purpose, Ephtal embarks on a quest to attain the pinnacle of magic.

The manga, which serves as the source material for the anime adaptation, is based on Arata Shiraishi’s light novel series, “Rakudai Kenja no Gakuin Musō: Nido Tensei Shita Saikyō Kenja, 400-nen-go no Sekai o Maken de Musō.” The anime features a talented cast, including Shūichirō Umeda as Ephtal, Reo Osanai as Anastasia, Haruka Shiraishi as Marin, and Hiroki Tōchi in the dual role of Ephtal as a sage and an elderly man. Ayaka Fukuhara lends her voice to the youthful version of Ephtal, while Emiri Katō portrays Iria and Daisuke Hirakawa embodies Fraser.

Under the direction of Hisashi Ishii, the anime promises a visually stunning and immersive experience for viewers.
