Primavera Sound has passed, and Glastonbury is taking a break this year, leaving many interested in attending Europe’s major music festivals out of luck. However, the vibrant summer festival scene in Europe goes beyond these big names. Whether you are a fan of indie rock, techno, avant-garde electronic music, or something in between, there are still numerous festivals with available tickets across the continent.

One such festival is Festival de Nîmes in France, which runs for six weeks with one headline concert every night. The Nîmes amphitheater, built around 100 AD by the Romans, provides a unique backdrop for this star-studded event. Concertgoers can immerse themselves in the rich history of Nîmes, exploring attractions like the well-preserved Roman temple Maison Carrée between shows. This year’s lineup features an array of artists appealing to different age groups, including Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, Jamiroquai, The Pixies, Sting, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, and The Cure, as well as Lorde.

Exit2Montenegro, previously held in Serbia but now in Montenegro, is another festival spread across two weekends. The July edition takes place on Ulcinj’s Long Beach, while the August edition is in Budva. Each weekend offers a different musical experience, with Ulcinj focusing on house and techno artists like Argy, Jamie Jones, and Maceo Plex, and Budva featuring acts such as Peggy Gou, Charlotte de Witte, and Hugel. One of the festival’s main attractions is its affordability, with general admission being free upon registration, and VIP tickets available ranging from €50 to €150.

Rock Werchter in Belgium is known for its diverse lineup, offering much more than just rock music. Over the years, the festival has expanded its scope to include a wide range of musical genres, making it one of the most eclectic festivals in Europe. Artists performing at Rock Werchter represent various styles and tastes, appealing to a broad audience seeking an inclusive festival experience.

These are just a few examples of the many European music festivals still taking place this summer. While Glastonbury may be on pause and some major festivals sold out, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy live music and immerse oneself in the vibrant festival atmosphere across the continent. Whether you prefer established artists or emerging talents, traditional rock sounds or cutting-edge electronic beats, there is a festival out there for everyone to experience and enjoy.
