German folk rock band SCHANDMAUL has announced their new album, “Sternensegler,” which is set to be released on September 11, 2026, via Napalm Records. This album marks a significant point for the band as it is the first one featuring Till Herence on vocals. Herence took on the role of lead vocalist during live shows in 2024 when Thomas Lindner had to step back due to health reasons. Despite this change, Lindner, the band’s founder, continues to be part of SCHANDMAUL, showcasing his musical talents on different instruments. Together, the band members navigate towards a new musical future with the release of “Sternensegler.”

The band shared their excitement about the album, stating, “Our ‘Sternensegler’ rises powerfully like a phoenix from the ashes—and that same strength is reflected in these new songs. They symbolize rebirth and are a sign of unity and friendship. That’s how you deal with setbacks. Giving up was never an option for us. Let’s look ahead and set sail for new horizons!” The album is a reflection of their resilience and determination to overcome challenges.

The tracklist of “Sternensegler” showcases a variety of emotions and themes. The opening track, “Nimm alles mit” (Engl. “take everything with you”), sets a positive tone for the album, signifying a fresh start for the band. The title track, “Sternensegler,” extends a welcoming hand to fans, while “Beide Füße in der Luft” (Engl. “both feet in the air”) delves into the band’s edgier side. The song “Flagge” is a clear political statement supporting diversity and unity, emphasizing the band’s values. Other tracks like “Nosferatu” and “Wo Sprache aufhört” (Engl. “where language ends”) showcase SCHANDMAUL’s versatility and musical depth.

The bonus album included in some editions of “Sternensegler” offers instrumental harp versions of seven songs, as well as the previously released collaboration with SUBWAY TO SALLY on “Räuber und Narren” (Engl. “outlaws and fools”). The album will be available in various formats, catering to different preferences of fans.

In addition to the album release, SCHANDMAUL has announced a series of live performances for 2026 and 2027, including festival appearances and their Sternensegler Tour in 2027. The band’s lineup consists of talented musicians who bring their unique skills to create a harmonious blend of folk rock music.

Overall, “Sternensegler” promises to be a transformative and uplifting album for SCHANDMAUL and their fans. With a new vocalist and a renewed sense of purpose, the band is set to embark on a new musical journey, steering towards brighter horizons and exciting adventures in the world of folk rock.
