Jack White has once again surprised fans with news of a new album, all without any official announcement. The latest video from Third Man Records’ Release Lab series, which is meant to delve into the label’s marketing strategies, inadvertently revealed details about his upcoming seventh solo album.

The video, released early today, delves into the marketing campaign behind White’s acclaimed 2024 album, No Name. A roundtable discussion featuring Ben Swank, Ben Blackwell, Morgan Perry, and Jordan Williams was unexpectedly interrupted by black-and-white footage of a mysterious figure in a chrome skull helmet. This strange character, known as “FROZEN CHARLATAN,” held up a sign with the words “NEW ALBUM” before showcasing the album cover to viewers. A similar cryptic teaser occurred during the previous video installment, hinting at new music.

White’s new album, titled Frozen Charlotte, is set to be released on July 10. The album is now available for pre-order on both the Third Man and Jack White websites. Third Man Records describes Frozen Charlotte as the seventh studio album from Jack White, showcasing the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer at the peak of his talents. Backed by a stellar band consisting of Patrick Keeler on drums, Dominic Davis on bass, and Bobby Emmett on keys, White’s latest work promises to deliver his signature blend of raw energy and bluesy undertones.

Recorded at White’s Third Man Studio in Nashville, Frozen Charlotte is a continuation of the intense and fiery sound that defined his previous album, No Name. With 13 tracks that each bring a unique feel and tone, the album is a testament to White’s musical prowess. The tracklist includes previously released singles like “G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs” and “Derecho Demonico,” tracks that have already garnered attention after White’s performances on SNL.

The album’s title, Frozen Charlotte, draws inspiration from White’s recent visual art endeavors. The name refers to a series of sculptures created by White currently on display at Damien Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery in London. White has been sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of his artistic process on Instagram, providing a glimpse into the creative journey that led to the album’s title and artwork.

While White has not officially discussed the album yet, he has been actively engaged in promoting his work through social media and visual art projects. The release of Frozen Charlotte marks an exciting new chapter in White’s musical career, promising fans a blend of electrifying rock and roll and blues-infused melodies. Scheduled to drop on July 10, Frozen Charlotte is sure to captivate both long-time followers and new listeners alike as an essential addition to Jack White’s impressive discography.
