Bow Wow Wow and Men Without Hats to replace The Motels at Totally Tubular Fest Shows

Totally Tubular Festival, starting from the Phoenix show on July 17. The announcement revealed that Bow Wow Wow would fill in for The Motels until the Salt Lake City show on July 26, where Men Without Hats would then replace The Motels from the Washington, D.C., concert on August 7 through the final show in Aurora, IL, on August 16.

The Motels expressed regrets about canceling their appearances at the Totally Tubular Festival this summer due to lead singer and founder, Martha Davis’ need for time off to recover from a recent medical procedure. Davis herself shared her disappointment over missing out on the tour, expressing love for her fans and assuring them of her return in the future.

Festival creator, Jon Pleeter, conveyed his excitement about welcoming back The Motels in due time, emphasizing Martha Davis’ irreplaceable presence on stage. The festival’s lineup is packed with iconic ’80s artists such as Thomas Dolby & The Lost Toy People, A Flock Of Seagulls, The Producers, Animotion, The Escape Club, and Tommy Tutone, who all gained immense popularity during the MTV era and have continued to enjoy a resurgence in recent years.

A notable highlight of this year’s festival is the reunion of Thomas Dolby & The Lost Toy People, marking their first performance together since 1988, and The Producers (original lineup) embarking on a coast-to-coast tour in the US after over 25 years. As The Motels bow out temporarily, Bow Wow Wow is set to captivate audiences on various dates, including stops in Denver, San Francisco, Anaheim, and Las Vegas.
