IMISSMYMOM releases IMISSMYMOM II album and “Alive” video

The new album is the band’s second release following their debut in 2024, showcasing a refined blend of rock-inspired influences. Spearheading the visual direction for this project is renowned creative director Ib Kamara, former editor-in-chief of Dazed. Kamara’s involvement came about organically after being introduced to the early demos in the studio, a moment that the band considers pivotal in shaping the visual narrative of the record. “The connection with Ib was established during a studio session where he was captivated by the raw album demos,” they reveal. “It was then that we decided to entrust him with overseeing the visual representation of this album, and we are incredibly privileged to have him on board.”

The music video for the track “Alive,” directed by Nayayadream, transports the band into a surreal and ever-changing landscape that mirrors the chaotic and corrupt themes explored throughout the album. Throughout the nine tracks, the trio delves deeper into their unique “heroin rock” aesthetic that has become a trademark of their evolving body of work. Their sound is characterized by hazy atmospherics, emotive vocal performances, and a robust low-end presence that draws inspiration from both shoegaze and underground rap influences. Crafting the new material took place across studio spaces in London and Los Angeles, with final mixing handled by the band themselves in collaboration with a select group of producers.

The tracklist for IMISSMYMOM II includes “Alive,” “Not Allowed,” “River Run Dry,” “Live 2 Die,” “At The Party,” “Running Away,” “One In A Million,” “Lust,” and “Cloud 09.” Each song contributes to the overarching narrative of the album, weaving together themes of life, death, desire, and escapism.
