Shinedown’s ‘EI8HT’ Achieves Fifth Consecutive No. 1 on Hard Rock Albums Chart

Shinedown has once again proven their dominance in the rock music scene by claiming the top spot on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart with their latest release, EI8HT. This marks the band’s fifth consecutive No. 1 on the chart, solidifying their status as one of the leading forces in the genre.

The album, which is the band’s eighth studio album, garnered an impressive 38,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week ending June 4, according to data from Luminate. Of these units, physical sales accounted for 30,000, with vinyl copies alone totaling 9,000, propelling the album to No. 5 on the Vinyl Albums list.

Shinedown’s success on the charts is not limited to the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, as they also secured a spot at No. 12 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Since their 2008 album, “The Sound of Madness,” every full-length release from the band has managed to crack the top 20 on the Billboard 200 chart, showcasing their consistent appeal to a wide audience.

The lead single from EI8HT, “Young Again,” also made waves by reaching the top spot on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. The track accumulated 1.3 million chart-eligible streams and 183,000 radio audience impressions, contributing to its success on the charts. “Young Again” marks Shinedown’s first No. 1 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart since its inception in 2020, surpassing the previous No. 3 peaks of “Atlas Falls” in 2020 and “Dance, Kid, Dance” in 2025.

Fans of Shinedown had been eagerly awaiting the release of EI8HT, as the album arrived after a four-year hiatus since their last album, “Planet Zero,” in 2022. The 18-track album dropped on May 29, offering fans a fresh collection of music from the band.

Shinedown’s success extends beyond album sales and chart performance, as they hold the all-time record for the most No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, with an impressive 23 chart-toppers. This achievement places them three ahead of the second-place holder, Three Days Grace, solidifying their position as a powerhouse in the rock music industry.
