The seismic waves of music and performance reverberated through the grounds of Castle Donington over the weekend of 10th – 14th June 2026, reminiscent of the last recorded earthquake in the area back in 2012. The UK’s largest rock festival, Download, brought together an eclectic mix of top-tier artists that left audiences in awe and excitement.
Kicking off the festivities on Thursday night was the iconic pop group Five, who received an enthusiastic welcome from their dedicated fans. The tent was filled to capacity as the audience danced and sang along to hits like “Got The Feelin’,” “Slam Dunk Da Funk,” and “Keep On Movin’,” creating an electrifying atmosphere. The night took an unexpected turn with an on-stage engagement proposal, adding an element of romance to the festival.
Friday night’s lineup featured standout performances from James And The Cold Gun and Pendulum, who captivated the audience with their dynamic stage presence. Feeder, a festival favorite, delivered a set filled with classics like “Feeling A Moment” and “Buck Rogers,” igniting the crowd with their timeless sound. Meanwhile, Cypress Hill brought their signature hip-hop flair to the stage, hyping up attendees with hits like “Insane In The Brain” and a high-energy cover of House Of Pain’s “Jump Around.”
The highlight of the evening was Limp Bizkit’s electrifying performance, showcasing their rap-punk prowess with hits like “Rollin’,” “Behind Blue Eyes,” and “Break Stuff.” Lead vocalist Fred Durst commanded the stage with energy and charisma, engaging the crowd with every beat and riff. Special guests and dancers added to the spectacle, making it a night to remember.
Saturday kicked off with Nevertel and Conjurer delivering impressive sets on the Avalanche and Dogtooth stages, respectively. Baby Metal brought their unique brand of metal to the Apex stage, enthralling the audience with their energetic performance. Trivium followed suit with a set filled with headbanging anthems, setting the stage for the night’s headliners, Guns N Roses.
Guns N Roses took to the stage with a marathon 3 1/2 hour set, delivering classic hits like “Welcome To The Jungle,” “You Could Be Mine,” and “November Rain.” The band’s legendary status was on full display as they kept the crowd on their feet throughout the night, culminating in a fiery rendition of “Paradise City.”
Sunday’s lineup featured powerhouse performances from Mammoth, Decessus, and TX2, each bringing a unique energy to their respective stages. The legendary rock trio Ash delighted fans with crowd favorites like “Shining Light” and “Girl From Mars,” while Ice Nine Kills stunned audiences with their theatrical presentation and death-defying stunts.
The festival came to a close with a monumental performance by Linkin Park, featuring the incredible Emily Armstrong as their first-ever female headlining act. From hits like “The Emptiness Machine” to “Numb,” the band delivered a set that left a lasting impression on all in attendance. As Emily expressed their gratitude to the audience, the sentiment of love and appreciation echoed throughout the festival grounds.
