City in Portugal to host agricultural fair
Expofacic – Cantanhede Agricultural, Commercial, and Industrial Fair is set to return with an array of offerings for visitors. This annual event, which boasts around 200 shows, over 600 exhibitors, and 50 food stalls, is a significant platform for territorial promotion, economic growth, and the expression of Cantanhede’s unique characteristics, as stated by Mayor Helena Teodósio.
Scheduled to kick off on 30 July, the 34th edition of Expofacic invites attendees to enjoy the festivities at São Mateus Expo-Sports Park in Coimbra until 9 August. During a press conference unveiling details of the event, the mayor emphasized that the program is carefully crafted to cater to diverse age groups and interests. Expofacic is not just a festival but a prime opportunity for local businesses to showcase their products and services, foster connections with potential clients, and celebrate regional traditions.
Helena Teodósio further highlighted that this year’s edition has placed a strong emphasis on enhancing various aspects of the fair, including improving visitor experience, upgrading infrastructure, and implementing solutions that prioritize comfort, safety, and sustainability. With just 45 days to go until the commencement of the event, Pedro Cardoso, chairman of the board of directors of the municipal company INOVA, underscored the profound impact of Expofacic on the local economy, substantiating the significant investment made by the Municipality.
Expofacic boasts an expansive layout featuring 450 commercial and industrial spaces, 33 automotive-related spots, 60 dedicated to agriculture, 110 for national and international crafts, and 10 outdoor spaces – making it the largest open-air shopping destination in the Iberian Peninsula. Additionally, the fair will house about 50 food stalls, 25 stalls with regional products, and 12 street food zones.
This year’s edition promises an exhilarating lineup of entertainment, with over 200 concerts and activities spread out across seven distinct stages. Renowned artists like Bárbara Tinoco, Sara Correia, José Cid, and Xutos & Pontapés are set to grace the main stage, captivating audiences with their performances. Noteworthy additions to the fair include the expansion of the Street Gaming area, offering an enhanced gaming experience with simulators and free activities, as well as an enriched Expofacic Kids zone to cater to the younger visitors.
