Thornapple drops new EP titled ‘My Century’
Rock band Thornapple unveiled their latest EP, ‘My Century,’ at noon on the 23rd, marking their first new release in three years. This highly anticipated five-track EP signifies a new musical chapter for the band, generating heightened excitement among fans. Alongside the EP launch, Thornapple is gearing up for a series of activities, including the production of a short film, music videos, and solo concerts.
‘My Century’ follows Thornapple’s previous EP, ‘Animal,’ released back in 2023, and revolves around the central message of ‘Your century that begins where I end.’ The EP showcases five distinct stories that explore themes of endings, beginnings, and the cyclical nature of time itself. Tracks on the EP include ‘Planetarium,’ ‘Glow-in-the-Dark,’ ‘Declinism,’ ‘The Sea, the Clouds, and the Stage,’ and ‘Acacia,’ each offering a unique narrative and musical style while maintaining a cohesive overall sound. Notably, ‘Acacia’ introduces a brass section for the first time in Thornapple’s discography, adding a fresh sonic layer to their music.
Leading up to the official release, Thornapple treated fans to an exclusive teaser trailer that provided a glimpse of all the tracks on the EP, ramping up anticipation for the upcoming record. The trailer served to further ignite interest and excitement among their dedicated fan base. Additionally, ahead of the EP launch, Thornapple premiered the ‘Thornapple My Century Extended Play Film’ exclusively at CGV, showcasing a visually stunning cinematic experience filmed at sea off Busan. This unique film extended the narrative and atmosphere of the EP, offering audiences a new and immersive way to engage with the music. During the subsequent screening event, the band engaged with viewers, discussing the creative process and sharing insights into the production of the film.
During a special GV event held on the 22nd, vocalist Yoon Sung-hyun expressed the band’s eagerness to share their new work with the world, hinting at future projects and declaring, “It still seems that Thornapple is not at the end of its century yet.” Looking ahead, Thornapple is set to grace the stage at prominent music festivals such as Soundberry Festa and Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival 2026 this summer. In August, they will connect with fans through a series of solo concerts titled ‘My Century’ in Seoul and Busan, with shows scheduled for August 15 and 16 at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul, and August 29 and 30 at BEXCO Auditorium in Busan. Tickets for these highly anticipated shows can be purchased via NOL Ticket, offering fans the chance to experience Thornapple’s electrifying live performances firsthand.
