Art bar previews final EP ahead of ‘Marionette’ release
Belfast-based band Makeshift Art Bar is gearing up for the release of their final EP, titled “Marionette,” with the preview of their latest single, “Servant,” dropping on June 24th. The EP is set to be released on June 26th via Heist or Hit, showcasing the band’s unique blend of post-punk, grunge, electronica, proto sludge metal, hardcore, and art rock influences. Fresh off a successful European tour with Chalk, Makeshift Art Bar has quickly made a name for themselves as a fearless and innovative voice in the underground music scene.
The band describes their new single, “Servant,” as an abstract and experimental piece that delves into themes of brainwashing and possession through repetitive musical motifs. This track serves as a bridge between their guitar-centric and synth-heavy sound, encapsulating their diverse influences seamlessly. Makeshift Art Bar’s previous singles, “Chocolate” and “Discipline,” have already garnered significant attention, with “Discipline” drawing inspiration from 80s industrial music.
In “Servant,” the band explores power dynamics and struggles through religious symbolism and self-reflection, showcasing their intriguing blend of conceptual lyricism and raw energy. Teaming up with Heist or Hit, Makeshift Art Bar is set to head out on a UK headline tour this autumn to promote their EP release.
