Beabadoobee releases new album ‘Pylon’ and shares single ‘Sun Has Set’
Beabadoobee has made a triumphant return with her latest album, ‘Pylon,’ set to release on September 18 under Dirty Hit and Interscope Records. Following her successful album ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves,’ Beabadoobee, also known as Beatrice Laus, is set to unleash her fourth album, ‘Pylon,’ that promises to be her most electrifying rock venture yet.
The title of the album, ‘Pylon,’ originates from the electricity towers that the artist glimpsed while feeling isolated from her loved ones during her recent tour. This title seems to be fitting for an album that may encapsulate Beabadoobee’s raw energy and rock-driven sound.
One of the standout singles from her upcoming album is ‘Sun Has Set.’ This song features heavy riffs and a high-voltage performance from Beabadoobee as she expresses her sentiments towards a past relationship with grungy guitars and intense vocals. Reflecting on the track, Beabadoobee described it as a means of expressing what she wished she could have said, showcasing her unapologetic emotions through the song.
Accompanying the single release is a visually compelling music video directed by Jake Erland, who also directed the video for Beabadoobee’s ‘All I Did Was Dream of You.’ The video captures the unapologetic attitude of ‘Sun Has Set,’ with Beabadoobee in explosive performance settings and vivid imagery.
‘Pylon’ contains various collaborations with notable artists and musicians from the rock genre. Notably, Hayley Williams lends her vocals on ‘Nothing to Prove,’ while Turnstile’s Brendan Yates contributes to ‘Powerlines.’ Additionally, artists like Pinegrove’s Evan Stephens Hall, Deftones’ Chino Moreno, and Title Fight’s Shane Moran are featured on different tracks of the album. Matty Healy and George Daniel, longtime collaborators and labelmates, have a notable production credit on ‘Write Me a Letter.’
Beabadoobee will bring the electrifying sounds of ‘Pylon’ to audiences with her upcoming Powerlines Tour, featuring her largest series of shows, including some of her first arena performances. The tour kicks off on October 1, with scheduled performances at iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden, Kia Forum, and the O2 arena in London.
